How to Get Rid of Formosan Termites? There are two kinds of available Formosan subterranean treatment that one can use to effectively get rid of them.
The first one is soil termiticides. This kind of treatment can be applied for pre-treatment and post-construction. The first part or the pre-treatment happens when you treat the soil with liquid termiticides that create the chemical barrier beneath the structure. Ideally, this kind of protection lasts for 5 to 7 years. For post-construction treatment, there are three ways to do it. The rodding, drilling or trenching are ways you can use when the structure has already been built.
Bait system is an alternative to termiticides. This means that you place bait stations in the different parts of the property. Each station would contain pieces of wood that have to be checked regularly for sign of the Formosan termites. If there are termites found, then the wood would be replaced by the bait. The idea for the bait is to kill the termites in large numbers, the poison may be ingested by a few termites but it can be spread to the other termites. This process may be a bit slower but it can also ensure the death of the Formosan termites.
There are several baiting systems are now available for Formosan termite control. They may be “Super Termites” but they are not necessarily indestructible.
